Job Title: Data Scientist – Banking Domain (Remote, USA)

Location: Remote (USA) – Preference for candidates in/near Ohio
Client: Banking / Financial Services

Job Description:

We are seeking a Data Scientist to support analytical initiatives for a banking client based in Ohio. This role involves working with large datasets, building statistical models, and delivering insights to support business decisions across various banking functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights
Develop and implement statistical and predictive models
Work with business and technical teams to understand data requirements
Prepare and clean data for analysis from multiple sources
Validate model results and ensure accuracy and consistency
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
Support reporting and analytics needs across business units
Follow data governance and compliance standards

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
5+ years of experience in data analysis or data science
Strong knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis techniques
Proficiency in Python or R
Experience writing complex SQL queries
Experience working with large datasets
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in banking or financial services
Knowledge of risk, fraud, or customer analytics
Familiarity with tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Experience with distributed data processing tools (e.g., Spark)
Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
