Platform Engineer (Senior Technical Lead)

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Platform Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of a robust, scalable platform supporting online banking applications. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can operate independently, deliver high-quality solutions, and drive innovation across systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement integrations across multiple banking platforms using APIs and custom-built solutions.
• Manage user roles, permissions, and security configurations across systems.
• Oversee production support, including incident management, stakeholder communication, and issue resolution.
• Monitor platform health and application performance, ensuring reliability and uptime.
• Establish and maintain change control procedures, ensuring system integrity and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and deliver new features.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve operational workflows.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Ensure engineering excellence with a focus on scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies; mentor junior engineers.
• Work cross-functionally to deliver sprint commitments in a Scrum/Agile environment.
• Contribute to code reviews, QA processes, and release cycles.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within banking applications to maintain system stability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, or Technical Leadership roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with technologies such as Python, Java (Spring Boot), AWS, and SQL.
• Deep understanding of engineering principles, tools, and best practices for system design and implementation.
• Experience supporting banking applications and platforms (highly preferred).
• Familiarity with multiple operating systems and modern technology stacks.
• Experience with ServiceNow and Salesforce.
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail in fast-paced environments.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• Experience developing custom Drupal modules.
• Familiarity with Acquia Site Studio and Acquia Cloud tools.
• Ability to write custom JavaScript for interactive web components.
• Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
• Familiarity with Pendo or similar user experience platforms.
