Power BI Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Architect to design, build, and optimize enterprise-level BI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI architecture, data modeling, performance tuning, and integration with diverse data sources, along with the ability to guide stakeholders on best practices, governance, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Power BI dashboards and reports using advanced DAX and data modeling techniques

• Analyze and resolve performance issues in existing reports, including query optimization, gateway troubleshooting, and data refresh improvements

• Integrate Power BI with multiple data sources such as SQL Server, Azure platforms, APIs, Excel, and third-party systems

• Configure and manage automated data refresh schedules, on-premises gateways, and Power BI Service environments

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions

• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and standards for Power BI development

• Provide guidance on Power BI governance, security, workspace management, and deployment strategies

Required Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in data modeling, including star and snowflake schemas, normalization, and managing relationships across multiple datasets

• Advanced hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server

• In-depth knowledge of Row-Level Security (RLS), deployment pipelines, workspace administration, and access controls

• Solid SQL skills with experience in database design, query tuning, and working with relational databases such as SQL Server and Azure SQL

• Strong understanding of data visualization principles, performance optimization techniques, and report usability best practices

• Experience integrating Power BI with Azure services such as Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in enterprise or large-scale BI environments

• Ability to mentor developers and establish BI standards and best practices

• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
