Summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in the Chantilly, VA area.

You will support mission-critical infrastructure by managing specialized cybersecurity applications, providing engineering support, and optimizing workflow efficiencies to defend enterprise networks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform engineering support and system administration of specialized cybersecurity applications and systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, and backup/restore.
  • Provide expertise in creating, editing, and managing scan policies, audit files, scan jobs, reports, dashboards, and custom content for tools such as Tenable Nessus and ServiceNow integration.
  • Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 maintenance support for deployed cybersecurity technologies and ensure compliance with customer policies, procedures, and TASKORDs.
  • Provide customer support via phone, email, or messaging services to troubleshoot vulnerability scanning issues, maintaining clear communication throughout the resolution process.
  • Provide ideas for and integrate automation of repetitive project tasks and metrics collection using scripts, assisting with testing and production implementation.
  • Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities related to cybersecurity technologies, updating project documentation and resolving tool implementation conflicts.
  • Analyze customer feedback, policies, and workflows to provide recommendations for process improvements and increased project efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor?s degree or 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of experience working with cybersecurity tools.
  • Working knowledge of the Tenable Network Security product suite and enterprise vulnerability scanning operations.
  • Solid understanding of Windows and Linux systems administration, operating system security practices, TCP/IP networking, and network security concepts.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of cybersecurity enterprise scanning, continuous monitoring, enterprise host/network security, and intrusion detection.
  • Technical ability to convert functional cybersecurity requirements into system requirements and apply cybersecurity architectural principles (e.g., defense-in-depth, resilience).
  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Active IAT Level II certification, or the ability and willingness to obtain IAT Level II certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and proficiency in using Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies and ServiceNow.
  • Understanding of federal cybersecurity guidance, including NIST SP 800-37 (Risk Management Framework) and NIST SP 800-137 (Information Security Continuous Monitoring).
  • Experience with automation and scripting technology capabilities to streamline repetitive workflow processes.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities independently or as part of a collaborative team.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Ability to work in a cubicle environment without distractions.
