PeopleSoft HCM upgrade specialist

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a PeopleSoft HCM upgrade specialist for a hybrid position in New York, NY to support critical payroll system enhancements driven by newly enacted federal legislation. Active LinkedIn preferred. This role will focus on implementing and maintaining updates within a complex PeopleSoft HCM environment, ensuring compliance, system integrity, and operational continuity across payroll systems.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Technical/Business discipline
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working with multiple versions of PeopleSoft and PeopleTools across HCM modules
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) with proven experience performing PeopleSoft and PeopleTools upgrades and patch installations using Change Assistant and PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM)
• Strong experience with PeopleSoft HCM applications (v9.2 PUM 39+ with Fluid technology) and PeopleTools (v8.59+)
• Experience administering middleware technologies including Oracle WebLogic, PeopleSoft App Designer, and Oracle SQL
• Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft security architecture, including design, development, implementation, and maintenance of security solutions
• Experience leading security infrastructure initiatives, including identity and access management, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong experience overseeing full lifecycle implementation of PeopleSoft security infrastructure, including design, development, testing, and deployment
• Strong knowledge of server virtualization, PeopleSoft debugging, and system tuning
• Strong experience with Oracle RAC architecture integration and configuration within PeopleSoft environments
• Experience working with PeopleSoft and PeopleTools on UNIX platforms (AIX preferred)
• Ability to analyze complex systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide effective solutions
• Ability to manage competing priorities, plan effectively, and meet project deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Experience working with large-scale, enterprise-wide implementations
• Experience working within matrixed environments
• Experience with Change Assistant (CA Tool), PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM), and scripting (Shell, SQL)
• Experience working with NYCAPS is preferred

SCOPE OF SERVICES
• Execute legislative update scripts, perform system configuration changes, and create or retrofit payroll-related code, web services, interfaces, and reports within PeopleSoft environments
• Install, maintain, and configure PeopleSoft, PeopleTools, and middleware infrastructure to support payroll processing updates, including pay rules, overtime calculations, tax updates, and reporting enhancements
• Support infrastructure and ongoing operations of enterprise payroll systems, ensuring stability and performance across environments
• Coordinate with Technical Leads and project teams to implement configuration changes, manage migrations, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones
• Balance implementation activities with ongoing payroll operations, ensuring minimal disruption to critical business functions
• Analyze system customizations and assess their impact on upgrade timelines and implementation strategies
