We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our growing Digital Applications Development team in Phoenix, AZ. This team is central to designing, delivering, and optimizing enterprise applications that support critical corporate architectures. In this role, you will help champion modern programming practices, cloud deployments, and scalable service-oriented systems.

responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain robust backend microservices utilizing Core Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
- Implement responsive software modules utilizing reactive frameworks such as Vert.x for high-throughput messaging.
- Collaborate with data engineering to structure and optimize data queries across Oracle, MySQL, and Cassandra databases.
- Manage application infrastructure workloads seamlessly across Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) landscapes.
- Uphold absolute software standards through continuous integration, code refactoring, comprehensive peer reviews, and automated testing (TDD/BDD).
qualifications:
8+ years of professional software engineering experience centered on Core Java and J2EE architectures.
Strong hands-on proficiency with Spring Boot, building RESTful web services, and utilizing Object-Oriented Design Patterns.
Proven development and deployment experience working within a cloud infrastructure ecosystem (specifically Google Cloud Platform).
Concrete understanding of databases, including relational systems (Oracle, MySQL) and/or NoSQL platforms (Cassandra).
Demonstrated expertise in managing modern CI/CD build/deployment automation and version control pipelines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior hands-on exposure to reactive programming frameworks, specifically Vert.x.
Solid experience implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) automated frameworks.
Strong foundations in the full software development lifecycle, extending from initial business analysis through to deep production support and performance tuning.
