Job Summary

The Professional Service Engineer - Production & Automation Software is responsible for the deployment of software solutions to Oil and Gas customers.

Roles & Responsibilities

Technical Duties:

Install, Upgrade, and configure SCADA and Production Optimization Systems.

Build Screens, Workflows, and Reports to support customer operations and SCADA hardware.

Provide custom solutions, utilities and system integration using scripts along with procedural documentation and relevant reports.

Perform root-cause analysis of problems reported by debugging program/scripts, and if necessary, correct them or report them to Development.

Gain a firm understanding of Weatherford's SCADA and Production Optimization Products and how it works from the user perspective.

Able to troubleshoot issues related to SCADA hardware and radio communications

Train users in system usage and administration.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Help field support/clients with upgrading and configuring software.

Interact with customers to understand and troubleshoot product issues.

Support for third party application rollout based on business needs

Supervisors & Managers should demonstrate effective safety leadership for the health and safety arrangements of all subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises

Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System

Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement

Communication & Stakeholder Management:

Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external

Supervisors & Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports

Financial Accountability:

All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses

Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure

Career Development & Leadership:

Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function, compliance & business standards training to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience

Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential

Supervisors are expected to actively engaging their employees to support talent management through Weatherford's performance management process, including but not limited to talent assessments, succession planning & regular coaching opportunities

Supervisors should collaborate with Human Resources & Training Development to drive strategies for the recruitment & retention of key personal & to foster an environment that supports the attraction & retention of a high performing talented workforce

Demonstrates leadership, ethical behavior and adherence to Weatherford standards at all times

Education & General Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering, with 2-5+ years of experience.

Experience in similar role troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with hardware and software.

Experience in Oil and Gas Industry - Production, Artificial Lift.

Valid driver's license.

Domestic and foreign travel may be required.

Software & Programming:

Experience in deploying and debugging Enterprise software in Microsoft Environment

Excellent debugging /knowledge of: C#, SQL, Powershell

SQL Server Management Experience.

Experience with ETL techniques and tools.

Experience in integrating applications.

Knowledge of Windows programming environment.

Knowledge of Web Security, Authentication and Authorization.

Enhance or make custom changes in existing utilities, batch scheduling.

Windows OS administration and support.

Microsoft Server OS knowledge

Working knowledge of automation and scripting concepts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to support collaboration with technical teams and understand operational automation opportunities.

Database and middleware operational knowledge (backup/restore, performance tuning, HA/DR patterns)

SCADA & Industrial Systems:

Experience in SCADA, protocols such as MODBUS, OPC, MQTT, etc.

Experience in RTUs, PLCs, communication configuration and troubleshooting.

Experience with CygNet SCADA, ForeSite, or similar software.

Understand OT and IT system architecture requirements for SCADA applications.

Knowledgeable of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Oil and Gas SCADA industry

Analytics, Cloud & APIs:

Exposure to Open-Source Analytics.

Experience in Data Analytics, BI applications, and frameworks

Knowledge of Cloud platforms.

Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web applications

Soft Skills & Additional Requirements:

Exposure to Software support.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to calmly manage crisis situations.

Ability to plan and organize daily and weekly tasks.

Ability to work with minimum supervision.
