Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, or related technical field preferred
Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as SMRP or CAPM highly desirable
Experience:
10+ years in automation support, project management, or related roles within manufacturing or industrial environments
Proven track record of successful automation projects from inception to completion
Experience managing large-scale automation projects including budget management and stakeholder communication
Background in automation within manufacturing, logistics, or pharmaceuticals industries preferred
Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians
Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences
Strong collaborative abilities with proven track record of building stakeholder relationships
Project management expertise including scope definition, timeline setting, and resource management
Advanced analytical skills for interpreting automation analytics and driving data-informed decisions
Extensive automation troubleshooting experience with solid understanding of PLC logic and control systems
Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Familiarity with advanced automation technologies including robotics, IoT integration, and AI-based solutions
Manual dexterity for using hand tools and mechanical diagnostic tools safely and effectively
Team leadership and mentoring capabilities

This position demands a unique blend of technical acumen, project management capabilities, and interpersonal skills to diagnose complex automation challenges, implement effective solutions, and build collaborative partnerships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to co-own strategic planning and implementation of automation systems, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs
Assess deployment strategies and manage installation and commissioning of new automation equipment globally
Conduct comprehensive training sessions for site personnel on newly installed automation systems
Foster strong partnerships with stakeholders to advocate for resource allocations and enhance team collaboration
Diagnose complex automation issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve system reliability
Develop and refine best practices for automation support, ensuring engineering team members have necessary tools and knowledge
Utilize data management skills to analyze system performance and identify improvement opportunities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document and communicate technical issues and solutions effectively
Provide virtual support for various automation platforms across multiple sites
Travel up to 35% of the time to provide on-site support, training, and assessments as needed
Navigate various work environments including manufacturing floors and equipment areas
Adhere to all site safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout, personal protective equipment requirements, and fall protection protocols
