Process Development Associate

ApTask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Process Development Associate with a pharmaceutical company. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity with our client located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is an onsite position.

Summary:

This lab-based role supports the development, characterization, and scale-up of upstream and downstream processes for clinical drug substance manufacturing. The successful candidate will join an integrated bioprocess development group, working on multiple modalities including antibodies, BiTEs, and siRNAs. This position focuses on designing and executing experiments at the bench scale, spanning both cell culture and purification operations.

Responsibilities:

• Work on culturing mammalian cells, maintaining bioreactors, and sampling bioreactors
• Design and execute experiments at the bench scale for the end-to-end drug substance process
• Apply established platform approaches and problem-solving skills to overcome experimental challenges
• Contribute to technology development, including process automation
• Execute daily tasks as assigned, collect data, and prepare for presentation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree
• OR Associate degree and 4 years of scientific experience
• At least one year of lab experience working on similar projects
• Understanding of basic concepts of cell culture and protein purification
• Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Desired skills:

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or other relevant sciences
• Basic understanding of protein chromatography and filtration processes
• Hands-on industry experience with purification operations
• Experience with data analytical tools (Excel, Spotfire, etc)
• Experience with statistical analysis and programming in JMP, R, and/or Python

Pay range: Up to $31.59 per Hour
