Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire sprinkler system installation, testing, maintenance, and inspection. They will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in various types of buildings, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest safety and quality standards. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and protection of our clients' properties.

Responsibilities

1. Install, repair, and maintain all types of fire sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam suppression systems.
2. Conduct regular inspections and tests of systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and meeting all safety standards and regulations.
3. Fabricate and install hangers, valves, backflow prevention devices, bells, drains, fire pumps, and stored water supply systems.
4. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
5. Troubleshoot system malfunctions and carry out necessary repairs.
6. Coordinate with other construction professionals, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure that all aspects of the fire sprinkler system are integrated correctly.
7. Provide training and guidance to less experienced team members.
8. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
9. Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field and maintain knowledge of current fire protection standards and codes.

Qualifications

1. Two or more years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Fitter in the construction industry.
2. Certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or equivalent is a plus.
3. Extensive knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, including installation, maintenance, testing, and inspection procedures.
4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot system malfunctions.
6. Strong understanding of fire protection standards and codes.
7. Ability to work in a team and coordinate with other construction professionals.
8. Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality.
9. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a variety of weather conditions.
10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
11. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different job sites as needed.
