This individual will also create and maintain detailed business requirements, outlining data problems, opportunities and solutions supporting supply chain business partners.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirements and Business Engagement

  • Act as the go-to BI contact for operational areas, building trusted relationships with stakeholders from frontline supervisors to senior leaders.
  • Lead requirements sessions and translate operational questions into clear metric definitions, functional designs and specifications.
  • Map current workflows and data flows, document processes with diagrams, and recommend improvements through new or existing technology.
  • Identify dependencies across projects and domains and act as the liaison between business partners and IT development teams.

Build applications, data pipelines, reporting and analytics

  • Design, build and maintain Tableau and Power BI dashboards and reports that track operational KPIs such as on-time delivery, fill rate, order cycle time, inventory accuracy, labor productivity, quality defects and safety incidents.
  • Write performant SQL and build reusable data models and semantic models on large operational datasets from warehouse, transportation, and ERP systems.
  • Develop and maintain data transformations and pipelines in Microsoft Fabric and Azure, partnering with data engineers on larger platform work.
  • Develop and maintain webapps using .Net technology
  • Enhance, support and migrate legacy reporting (WebFOCUS, and SSIS) to the modern cloud platform.

Deliver with quality and drive adoption

  • Own test planning and validation so solutions are accurate before they reach production.
  • Document metric definitions, data lineage and report logic, and contribute to team standards for development and delivery.
  • Communicate changes clearly and train users so new reports are adopted and trusted.
  • Prioritize your own portfolio of planned and ad-hoc work, and mentor junior team members.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in BI development or data analytics, supporting supply chain, distribution, or logistics operations.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and large datasets.
  • Experience with Tableau, WebFOCUS, SSIS or Alteryx, particularly migrating legacy reports to a cloud platform.
  • Hands-on Power BI experience, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query and report design.
  • Python or PySpark experience for data preparation and analysis.
  • Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders and turning them into reports, data models and written specifications.
  • Working knowledge of core operations and supply chain metrics and how they are calculated.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data and insights to audiences ranging from frontline leaders to executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and to work independently with minimal direction.

Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Factory pipelines, Real-Time Intelligence) or Azure data services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS, Databricks).
  • Experience with data governance and catalog tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra or Alation.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (for example GitHub Copilot, Factory or similar) and interest in applying AI and machine learning to operational problems such as forecasting and anomaly detection.
