Senior Java Developer (IES – Integrated Eligibility System)

Location: 100% Remote (USA)

 Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with strong Integrated Eligibility System (IES) experience to support large-scale government healthcare and public assistance programs.

The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of experience in designing and developing enterprise applications using Java technologies and must have hands-on experience working with state or federal eligibility systems such as Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
Work on system architecture, microservices, and API integrations
Develop and support eligibility and benefits processing systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and DevOps
Lead technical design discussions and provide mentorship to junior developers
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges
Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and government standards
Participate in code reviews, best practices, and Agile development processes

Required Skills & Experience:

12+ years of experience in Java development
Strong expertise in:
Java, Spring, Spring Boot
RESTful APIs & Microservices Architecture
Database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
Experience with system integrations and enterprise application design
Hands-on experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies

 Mandatory Domain Experience (IES)

Candidates must have experience working on Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES) supporting public assistance programs such as:

Medicaid
SNAP (Food Stamps)
TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)

Preferred Experience

Experience working with large government eligibility platforms such as:
TIERS (Texas Integrated Eligibility Redesign System)
CalHEERS
NY State of Health
