Senior AWS Engineer

We are seeking a Senior AWS Engineer to design, build, and scale intelligent, agent-driven systems in a cloud-native environment. This role sits at the intersection of cloud engineering, API architecture, and applied AI, focused on enabling autonomous workflows that seamlessly interact with internal systems, external services, and data platforms. You will play a key role in building production-grade AI-powered services leveraging AWS, modern API frameworks, and emerging agentic technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable, secure AWS-based architectures supporting AI-driven applications and services
• Develop and manage high-performance APIs (REST/GraphQL) to enable seamless system and agent interactions
• Build and deploy agent-based workflows capable of multi-step reasoning, orchestration, and execution
• Integrate LLMs and AI services with APIs, tools, and enterprise systems
• Implement API gateway patterns, routing, and service orchestration (e.g., MCP Gateway or similar frameworks)
• Develop event-driven and serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, and related services
• Ensure secure service-to-service communication, authentication, and IAM best practices
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize systems for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Partner with product, data, and AI teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
• Establish and contribute to best practices around API design, AI integration, and cloud architecture

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in software engineering or cloud engineering roles
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, ECS/EKS, etc.)
• Proven experience designing and building APIs and microservices architectures
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript
• Experience integrating AI/LLMs with APIs, tools, or enterprise systems
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture
• Experience with cloud security, IAM, and secure API design
• Familiarity with agentic workflows (tool calling, orchestration, multi-step execution)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with AgentCore, MCP Gateway, or similar agent orchestration frameworks
• Experience with serverless and containerized environments (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes/EKS)
• Familiarity with vector databases and RAG architectures
• Experience with LLM observability, evaluation, and monitoring
• Exposure to multi-agent systems or workflow orchestration tools
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
