Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network Support Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days per week onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in Chandler, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role focuses on the operational support of complex network environments, including switching, routing, and firewalls. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring IT infrastructure services, identifying potential failures, and leading triage efforts for network incidents using tools like Splunk, Cisco Nexus, and VMWare vSphere.
Responsibilities: - Provide operational support of network environments including Switching, Routing (underlay and overlay), Firewall, Traffic Management, Content Inspection, and DNS
- Identify service impact by interpreting monitors, dashboards, traffic captures, and logs
- Identify possible production failure scenarios through eyes-on-glass monitoring of IT infrastructure services
- React to failures according to business impact and communicate with management and technical escalation teams
- Initiate and manage production support triage efforts for network infrastructure incidents
- Provide status updates and technical details for awareness communications
- Ensure data quality and completion of incident tickets, including accurate documentation of all impacts
- Work on ad-hoc reports and offline incidents as directed by senior team members
- Promote and enforce production governance during triage, testing, and fix efforts
- Adhere to design standards and global design authority processes and procedures
Requirements: - Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, SevOne, IBM Watson AI Ops, Wireshark, NetScout, and Gigamon
- Experience with network hardware and software including Cisco Nexus / ACI, Arista CloudVision, and VMware vSphere
- Strong understanding of enterprise network infrastructure (routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN)
- Experience working with network telemetry sources such as SNMP, syslog, telemetry streams, APIs, and device metrics
- Ability to translate raw telemetry into actionable insights for Operations teams
- Strong analytical skills and attention to data quality
- Good communication skills to work effectively with Engineering and Operations teams
Pay range: $37.06 - $45.06 per hour
