DevOps Engineer (Openshift)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 months CTH

Role Overview

This role involves the configuration and maintenance of OpenShift Containers, WAS servers, builds, and deployment plan components for multiple releases. As a DevOps Engineer, you will apply industry-accepted practices for developing and monitoring applications according to the Design Document and assist in implementing them into the production environment using Agile Methodology. This position has the potential to convert to a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Kubernetes and OpenShift container platforms, including architecture, configuration, deployment, administration, troubleshooting, and end-to-end environment setup.
• Utilize DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, Ansible, Jenkins, and Git for automation.
• Design, develop, and support enterprise applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
• Use development and monitoring tools like Eclipse and Splunk.
• Implement code quality, code review, and static analysis tools such as SonarQube and Crucible.
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for cloud provisioning and deployment.
• Engage in monitoring, tuning, and optimizing cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, and scalability.
• Work with container technologies, including Docker and containerized application deployment.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in Kubernetes and OpenShift container platforms.
• Experience with AI-powered development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, AI Agents, or Generative AI solutions.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools like Bitbucket, Ansible, Jenkins, and Git.
• Strong development experience in Java/J2EE technologies.
• Proficiency with development and monitoring tools such as Eclipse and Splunk.
• Experience with code quality and static analysis tools like SonarQube and Crucible.
• Understanding of modern software development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.
• Experience designing and maintaining cloud-native solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Ability to develop and maintain automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with container technologies, including Docker.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent advanced degree is desired.
