Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Integration Engineer with deep expertise in IBM Transformation Extender (ITX/ITXA) and Healthcare EDI integrations to design, build, and support enterprise-grade integration solutions. This role requires strong hands-on experience with EDI mapping, REST-based integrations, CI/CD pipelines, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices, along with the ability to mentor teams and communicate effectively across technical and business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ITX and healthcare EDI standards, contributing to large-scale, mission-critical integration platforms in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, modify, test, and deploy IBM Transformation Extender (ITX/ITXA) maps and type trees
· Lead healthcare EDI mapping efforts for standard transactions including 837, 834, 835, 270, 271, 276, 277, 999, and 277CA
· Build mappings across multiple file formats including XML, JSON, CSV, flat files (positional and delimited)
· Serve as SME for ITX Healthcare Pack, ensuring compliance with EDI standards and regulatory requirements
· Integrate ITX solutions using REST APIs, adapters (File, MQ, Database, SOAP), and messaging platforms
· Execute and manage maps using SPE Console, Command Server, Launcher, Integration Servers
· Support testing, validation, promotion, and deployment of integration artifacts across environments
· Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate ITX workflows into CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments
· Participate in product upgrades and platform enhancements involving ITX, ITXA, IBM Sterling B2Bi, and related tools
· Mentor junior developers on ITX design patterns, performance tuning, error handling, and REST integration strategies
· Work closely with cross-functional teams during Agile (Scrum/SAFe) ceremonies, supporting sprint planning, execution, and delivery
Required Experience & Qualifications
· 10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Transformation Extender (ITX), including long-term, daily mapping activities
· Proven experience with IBM Transformation Extender Advanced (ITXA) and ITX REST APIs
· Strong healthcare domain experience with EDI standards and transactions
· Experience installing and configuring ITX / ITXA
· Solid experience integrating with:
· IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (B2Bi)
· IBM Integration Bus
· IBM Sterling File Gateway
· Workflow Launcher
· Advanced understanding of system integration patterns, complex system landscapes, and enterprise middleware
Technical Skills
· Programming/scripting knowledge: Java, JavaScript, Python (or similar)
· Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
· Database experience with SQL, Oracle, and cloud-based databases
· Expertise in SDLC, Agile methodologies, and software engineering best practices
· Strong experience with CI/CD tools and frameworks, including continuous integration, testing, and deployment
· Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
· Experience with code quality, promotion, and release management practices
· Familiarity with secure communication protocols (SFTP, FTP/S, HTTP/S) and security concepts (keys, SSL certificates)
