Job DetailsCommercial HVAC Controls Technician
Location: Winchester, Virginia
Summary: Currently seeking a Commercial HVAC Controls Technician to join its growing team in the Winchester, Virginia market. This is an opportunity to work with a well-respected organization that delivers HVAC service, controls integration, mechanical construction, and design-build solutions across commercial and industrial facilities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, troubleshooting complex systems, and helping customers improve building performance through smart automation technology.
What You?ll Do
- \tInstall, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC building automation and controls systems
- \tProgram and service DDC/BAS platforms including Honeywell WEBS, Tridium Niagara, BACnet, LON, and JCI Facility Explorer systems
- \tDiagnose control system issues, communication failures, and equipment performance problems
- \tInterpret blueprints, submittals, wiring diagrams, and HVAC control sequences
- \tSupport startup, commissioning, system testing, and performance optimization activities
- \tWork with mechanical equipment including chillers, boilers, VAV systems, split systems, pumps, and water source heat pumps
- \tModify graphics, control logic, alarms, schedules, trends, and system configurations as needed
- \tCoordinate with project teams, engineers, contractors, and customers to ensure systems operate properly
- \tPerform inspections and verify systems are installed according to plans and specifications
- \tOrder parts and materials necessary for service and repair work
What We?re Looking For
- \tExperience working with commercial HVAC controls and building automation systems
- \tStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities with both DDC and mechanical HVAC systems
- \tFamiliarity with open protocols such as BACnet and LON
- \tAbility to work independently in the field while maintaining strong customer communication
- \tComfortable reading HVAC drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- \tKnowledge of pneumatic, electronic, and electric HVAC control systems
- \tExperience with TAB processes and system performance verification is a plus
- \tTridium Niagara N4 certification is a plus
Qualifications
- \tHigh School Diploma or GED required
- \t4+ years of experience in HVAC service, controls, or building automation
- \t2+ years of direct BAS/DDC controls experience preferred
- \tValid driver?s license with a clean driving record
- \tStrong communication and teamwork skills
- \tAbility to work flexible hours when project demands require it
