Summary
SAP BusinessObjects (BO) Administrator
Introduction:
The SAP BusinessObjects (BO) Administrator will be responsible for platform administration, security and access management, performance monitoring and troubleshooting, scheduling and publishing of reports, change and incident management, documentation, and compliance. They will work closely with various teams to ensure the smooth operation of SAP BusinessObjects environments.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade SAP BusinessObjects (BI 4.x) and SAP BODS environments
- Administer CMC, manage users, groups, roles, and access levels
- Perform system health checks, monitoring, and performance tuning
- Manage BO/DS services
- Manage authentication (AD, Enterprise)
- Provision users and map AD groups to BO roles
- Ensure role-based access and compliance with security standards
- Monitor BO performance and troubleshoot issues related to WebI, scheduling, and report execution
- Perform weekend maintenance activities including cache cleanup, server restarts, and rolling restarts
- Analyze logs and work with SAP support to resolve incidents
- Manage report scheduling, and bursting (InfoBurst or native BO)
- Troubleshoot failed schedules and performance issues
- Monitor job queues and system capacity
- Support incidents, service requests, and problem management
- Participate in change management and production deployments
- Coordinate with other teams for routine maintenance activities
- Support QA, UAT, and Production environments
- Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation
- Ensure platform compliance with audit and security requirements
Requirements:
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x
- Hands-on experience with BO server and BODS Server architecture and services
- Knowledge of authentication methods (AD)
- Experience with scheduling, publications, and report bursting
- Working knowledge of Windows
- Basic understanding of databases (HANA, Oracle, SQL Server)

- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 3-8 years of experience in SAP BusinessObjects Administration
