Role Name: Guidewire Data Architecture Lead

Location: Dearborn, MI (Onsite)

Duration : 12 Months

Key Responsibilities

 

1. CDA Strategy & Architecture Leadership

Lead the design and implementation of the Cloud Data Access (CDA) aligned with enterprise modernization goals

Define target-state architecture integrating Guidewire (PC, BC, DataHub) with:

Cloud data platform (e.g., BigQuery)

Operational data stores (e.g., DynamoDB or equivalent)

Data ingestion and integration frameworks

Ensure architecture supports:

High scalability and performance

Real-time and batch data processing

Advanced analytics and reporting

 

 

2. Guidewire Data Integration & Optimization

Own end-to-end Guidewire data architecture, including:

PolicyCenter & BillingCenter data models

DataHub ingestion and canonical data structures

Lead integration patterns between Guidewire and CDA:

Event-based ingestion

Batch ETL/ELT pipelines

Ensure data consistency, lineage, and governance across Guidewire and enterprise platforms

 

3. Data Migration & Modernization

Drive migration of legacy insurance data systems to CDA platform

Oversee:

Data profiling, cleansing, and transformation

Historical data onboarding (full + incremental loads)

Validation and reconciliation processes

Ensure functional parity with legacy extracts/reporting (e.g., Excel exports)

 

4. Data Engineering & Pipeline Execution

Lead development of modern ELT pipelines replacing legacy ETL tools

Implement scalable pipelines using:

Cloud-native tools (Google Cloud Platform stack preferred)

Streaming and batch frameworks

Ensure data quality frameworks, monitoring, and observability are in place

 

5. Program Leadership & Delivery

Act as the technical lead across cross-functional teams:

Data engineering

Guidewire platform teams

Business analytics and reporting

Manage:

Delivery roadmap and milestones

Risks, dependencies, and issue resolution

Ensure alignment with business stakeholders and product owners

 

6. Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with:

Business teams (underwriting, billing, claims analytics)

Enterprise architecture teams

Vendor and SI partners

Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions

 

Required Qualifications

Core Experience

10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or data platforms

5+ years in Guidewire ecosystem, with hands-on experience in:

PolicyCenter (PC)

BillingCenter (BC)

Guidewire DataHub (MANDATORY)

 

Technical Expertise

Strong knowledge of:

Guidewire data models and integration patterns

DataHub canonical model and ingestion framework

Experience with cloud platforms:

Google Cloud Platform (strongly preferred), or AWS/Azure

Expertise in:

Data warehousing (BigQuery or equivalent)

Data modeling (OLTP, OLAP, canonical models)

ETL/ELT modernization (migration from legacy tools like Informatica)

 

Data Engineering Skills

Proficiency in:

SQL and large-scale data processing

Batch and streaming pipeline design

Experience with:

Data migration strategies

Data quality frameworks

Metadata and lineage tools
