Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer for a hybrid position (minimum 3 days onsite per week) with a Global Financial Institution located in Newark, DE. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is responsible for providing technical leadership, direction, and oversight to development teams in the delivery of scalable, high-quality technology solutions. The individual will lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex enterprise applications while ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology strategy. This position requires close collaboration with business and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
Responsibilities: - Establish technical architecture and design standards
- Guide development teams through the software development lifecycle
- Review code quality and ensure adherence to engineering best practices, security standards, and organizational development policies
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions
Requirements: - Extensive experience developing high-volume, enterprise-scale applications with Java/J2EE and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and Java design patterns
- Expertise with the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Integration, and Spring Data JPA
- Experience building and consuming RESTful web services with a strong understanding of REST/JSON standards
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace
- Proficiency with Git, Maven, and JUnit
- Experience using and validating AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot for code generation, refactoring, and testing
Desired skills: - Full-stack development experience
- Experience supporting cloud-native or containerized applications
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with modern observability and site reliability engineering practices
Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
