Summary

Join Deloitte's Supply Chain & Network Operations practice as a Senior Consultant, Life Sciences CMC and help clients across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device organizations improve technical operations and supply chain performance. In this role, you will support business transformation efforts across Manufacturing Science and Technology, Technical Operations, and Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls processes. You will work with client stakeholders to assess current-state operations, identify improvement opportunities, and deliver solutions that strengthen manufacturing, regulatory, and operational outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex Life Sciences engagements while building depth in technical operations consulting.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Consultant, Life Sciences CMC on the Supply Chain and Network Operations team, you will be responsible for:
  • Execute key components of Manufacturing Science and Technology, Technical Operations, and Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls consulting engagements, including assessments, requirements gathering, gap analyses, and solution design activities
  • Lead defined workstreams or project phases related to technology transfer, process validation, regulatory readiness, manufacturing operations improvement, and current-state assessments
  • Analyze client manufacturing processes, quality systems, Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls documentation, and regulatory submissions to identify gaps and recommend improvements
  • Facilitate client workshops and working sessions, and develop deliverables such as process documentation, validation materials, gap assessments, technical specifications, and executive presentations
  • Support team development and practice growth by mentoring junior practitioners, contributing to proposal efforts, and applying artificial intelligence-enabled and digital tools to improve analysis and deliverable quality

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or another scientific or engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Science and Technology, Technical Operations, Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls, pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, quality, or Life Sciences consulting
  • Experience with pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing processes in one or more of the following areas: process development, scale-up, technology transfer, process validation, or quality systems
  • Experience working in current Good Manufacturing Practice-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device environments
  • Experience supporting technical, operational, or regulatory projects related to Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls, Manufacturing Science and Technology, Technical Operations, or pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
  • Master of Science, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or Master of Business Administration in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or another scientific or engineering field
  • Experience with biologics, cell and gene therapy, messenger ribonucleic acid, or complex drug product manufacturing platforms
  • Experience supporting Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls regulatory submissions, including Investigational New Drug, New Drug Application, or Biologics License Application sections, or post-approval changes
  • Experience applying International Council for Harmonisation Q8, Q9, Q10, Q11, or Q12 frameworks in manufacturing operations
  • Experience with continuous manufacturing, Process Analytical Technology tools, advanced process control, or digital manufacturing initiatives
  • Lean Six Sigma, project management, or pharmaceutical quality systems certification or training
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $116,200 to $291,100.
