Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer (DSP) to join our engineering team in Melbourne, FL. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in VHDL-based FPGA development, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) implementation, and Xilinx FPGA architectures. This role involves designing, developing, validating, and integrating FPGA solutions for advanced aerospace, defense, and communication systems while working within structured development processes such as DO-254.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and document FPGA solutions using VHDL for complex digital systems.
  • Implement and optimize Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms in FPGA hardware.
  • Develop FPGA architectures using Xilinx devices and toolchains.
  • Perform FPGA synthesis, implementation, timing analysis, and timing closure.
  • Conduct FPGA board bring-up, hardware debugging, and laboratory validation.
  • Support hardware, software, and system integration activities.
  • Perform functional verification and debugging using ModelSim and Questa.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, requirements traceability, and technical reports.
  • Participate in design reviews, peer reviews, and verification activities.
  • Work within structured development processes, including DO-254 compliance.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, and verification engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of FPGA development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • VHDL FPGA Design
    • Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
    • Xilinx FPGA architectures and development tools
    • MATLAB modeling and simulation
    • DO-254 development processes
    • Timing analysis and timing closure
    • FPGA board bring-up and hardware debugging
    • Linux development environment
    • ModelSim and Questa simulation tools
  • Experience with RF, SDR, Radar, or Communication systems.
  • Strong documentation and requirements management experience.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM verification methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with TCL, Python, or Bash scripting.
  • Experience with:
    • PCIe
    • Ethernet
    • JESD204
    • SERDES
    • AXI / AXI-Stream
  • Embedded Linux and C/C++ development.
  • Experience with Zynq or MPSoC platforms.
  • Automated testbench and regression framework development.
  • Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
  • Git version control and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience in Aerospace, Defense, or Safety-Critical Systems.
  • Familiarity with ALM development workflows.
