Job Title: Lead Android Developer Location: New York, NY Duration: Long Term
Technical Expertise:
12+ years in mobile app development, including 8+ years in Android (Kotlin/Java)
Proven leadership experience managing Android teams in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong hands-on experience with Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flow, Room, Hilt/Dagger, Retrofit/OkHttp
Experience with modular architecture, dependency injection, and multi-module applications
Expertise in offline caching, pagination, deep linking, and push notifications.
Integration & Tooling:
Experience integrating REST APIs, GraphQL, or gRPC services
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control
Hands-on experience with Firebase, Google Play Services, and payment integrations
Familiarity with analytics tools such as Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or App Center.
Leadership & Collaboration:
Experience leading distributed teams and collaborating with iOS, QA, and backend teams
Proactive problem-solver with strong ownership mindset
Excellent communication skills; comfortable working across time zones with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Published Android apps on Google Play with 100K+ downloads (eCommerce/FinTech preferred)
Exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) or Compose Multiplatform
Experience with Play Store release management and versioning best practices
Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
