Kitchell is seeking an IT Support Technician II to join our Sacramento office, which supports a significant portion of our employee population. You'll work locally alongside other Sacramento-based IT team members while collaborating closely with the broader IT department headquartered in Phoenix.

In this customer-facing role, you'll provide first- and second-level technical support involving hardware, software, connectivity, account access, and Microsoft 365. You'll also contribute to employee onboarding, technology deployments, asset management, and technical documentation while helping deliver a consistent, secure, and positive technology experience across the organization.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance by phone, email, remote-access tools, or in person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve first- and second-level issues involving hardware, software, Windows, Microsoft 365, user accounts, business applications, and connectivity.
  • Install, configure, deploy, maintain, and repair computers, mobile devices, printers, monitors, docking stations, and related equipment.
  • Create and maintain user accounts, groups, shared mailboxes, and access permissions within Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
  • Support Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, Adobe, Bluebeam, Autodesk products, and other approved business applications.
  • Provide new employees with account setup, equipment, and guidance on company technology resources and policies.
  • Document service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions within the IT ticketing system.
  • Keep employees informed of ticket progress, expected next steps, and resolution timelines.
  • Identify recurring issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend solutions that improve reliability and reduce repeat incidents.
  • Create and maintain technical procedures, troubleshooting resources, and end-user knowledge articles.
  • Support technology refreshes, office relocations, and new office or project-site deployments.
  • Maintain accurate equipment inventory, assignment, configuration, and deployment records.
  • Recognize and escalate suspected phishing, compromised accounts, malicious activity, and other cybersecurity concerns.
  • Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to Level I support technicians.

Requirements

What You'll Bring
  • At least two years of progressively responsible desktop support, technical support, or help desk experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, computer hardware, software, and user account issues.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and endpoint-management concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking, wired and wireless connectivity, printers, VPN technologies, and multifactor authentication.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • A customer-focused approach and the ability to explain technical information to employees with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently, and contribute to a collaborative team.
Even Better If You Have
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting construction, engineering, architecture, or another project-based organization.
  • Experience supporting remote offices or project-site technology deployments.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, Autodesk products, or similar business applications.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator Associate, or ITIL Foundation.
