Job Summary

The Cybersecurity Project Lead will provide technical leadership and project management for cybersecurity initiatives from identification through implementation. This role will work closely with various IT divisions to coordinate cybersecurity projects and ensure systems and processes are properly implemented and aligned with current cybersecurity best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and project management for cybersecurity initiatives from identification through implementation.

• Coordinate with various IT divisions to ensure cybersecurity systems and processes are properly implemented.

• Lead projects involving the review, evaluation, implementation, and enhancement of defensive technologies and controls, including:

  • EDR/XDR Endpoint Protection

  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)

  • Network Detection and Response (NDR)

  • Network Access Control (NAC)

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • Email Security

  • Security Awareness Training

  • Privileged Access Controls

  • Network Segmentation

• Assist with developing and maintaining cybersecurity policies.

• Update, test, and conduct exercises against incident response plans.

• Assess the current cybersecurity posture and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.

• Lead initiatives to address identified security gaps and improve cybersecurity controls.

• Ensure cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures align with established frameworks, including CIS, NIST, and CJIS.

• Provide City leadership and auditors with assurance that cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures are maintained and aligned with established frameworks.
