Position Overview
The State of Texas is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer (Technical Focus) to develop and deliver training for a PeopleSoft Financials (FSCM 9.2) ERP implementation.
This role is ideal for a seasoned Technical Training Specialist who can design, create, deliver, manage, and continuously improve IT training programs aligned with ERP systems and public-sector compliance standards.
The candidate must thrive in a large, collaborative remote Agile environment and be comfortable working directly with system designers, SMEs, and testing teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Training Program Development
Design and implement comprehensive ERP training programs
Develop role-based, accessibility-compliant content
Create structured curriculum tailored to financial business areas
Align training with business goals and regulatory standards
2. Content Creation
Course outlines and structured curriculum
Instructor guides and user manuals
Step-by-step job aids and process documentation
PowerPoint presentations and visual learning aids
Practice exercises and real-world scenarios
Technical documentation for COTS and in-house systems
Accessibility-compliant materials (EIR standards)
3.Training Delivery
Instructor-led classroom sessions
Virtual/web-based training
Asynchronous e-learning modules
Workshops and knowledge transfer sessions
Train-the-trainer programs
4. LMS & SharePoint Management
Maintain and update training SharePoint site
Manage documentation repositories
Ensure version control and content currency
5. Continuous Improvement
Evaluate training effectiveness
Update outdated content
Improve instructional techniques
Conduct test analysis and revise exam content
Required Skills & Experience
15–20+ years of IT Training / Instructional Design experience
Experience developing ERP system training programs
Strong hands-on experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2
Experience developing accessibility-compliant training content
Hands-on experience with eLearning development tools (minimum 4 years)
Experience with Microsoft O365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Experience with MS Teams and large remote team collaboration
Experience maintaining SharePoint sites
Experience working with public sector organizations (Federal/State/Local)
Experience with Jira
Strong technical writing and curriculum design skills
Ability to simplify complex IT concepts for technical and non-technical audiences
