Summary

Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a software engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems in Quincy, MA, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing and developing state-of-the-art applications for unmanned undersea vehicles. You will work on software encompassing the full life cycle of these systems, from embedded control code to GUI-based topside tools for planning and monitoring missions.

  • Excellent programming skills, specifically in C++.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a product development team.
  • Linux and Windows experience is highly desirable; hardware experience is a plus.

  • Solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
