Anonymized Job PostingJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and analytical
PMO Portfolio Manager to lead integrated portfolio planning, governance, financial tracking, and cross-functional alignment for a major technology transformation.
In this role, you will act as a critical bridge between business and IT leaders, owning the integrated portfolio workplan, budget forecasting, risk management, and executive reporting cadences. You will operate governance and change control processes across multi-vendor environments while establishing a durable, sustainable operating model.
Key Responsibilities- Portfolio & Workplan Ownership: Own the integrated portfolio workplan-managing milestones, dependencies, critical paths, stage-gate readiness, and cross-workstream ownership.
- Financial Management & Forecasting: Consolidate baseline budgets, forecasts, actuals, contingencies, and variance explanations while reconciling business views with IT reporting.
- Risk & Issue Governance: Maintain comprehensive tracking for risks, issues, actions, decisions, dependencies, and change controls, ensuring clear escalation paths and aging thresholds.
- Executive Reporting & Rollups: Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio rollups, translating complex project data into concise, decision-ready materials for senior leadership and governance forums.
- Operating Model & Vendor Coordination: Design and maintain the operating model, RACIs, and governance calendars. Coordinate vendor and contract oversight across Customer Service, IT, Finance, Procurement, and delivery partners.
Key Requirements- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant profession, business, or technical discipline (or equivalent experience) paired with 3 to 5 years of professional experience.
- Core Experience:
- Proven ownership of an integrated portfolio featuring multiple technology workstreams.
- Joint business and IT PMO experience within multi-vendor, technology-transformation environments.
- Strong background in portfolio financial management, forecasting, and value tracking.
- Governance & Control: Exceptional discipline in managing risks, issues, dependencies, and formal change-control processes across hybrid agile and stage-gated frameworks.
- Communication & Leadership: Executive-level communication skills with the ability to convert complexity into clear decisions and drive accountability across senior stakeholders without direct authority.
Nice-to-Haves- Experience working within the energy, utilities, or other highly regulated industries.
- Background in customer-service technology implementations (e.g., contact-center platforms, billing, SAP, conversational AI).
- Prior experience mobilizing a brand-new PMO and leaving behind a sustainable operating model and toolkit.
