Summary
Title: GIS Architect
- Design and architect enterprise GIS solutions using the Esri ArcGIS platform.
- Lead GIS modernization initiatives, including migration to ArcGIS Enterprise and cloud environments.
- Develop GIS architecture roadmaps aligned with business and IT strategies.
- Design and implement Utility Network solutions for electric utility operations.
- Integrate GIS with enterprise applications such as SAP, Maximo, OMS, ADMS, SCADA, and Work Management systems.
- Architect high-availability, scalable, and secure GIS environments.
- Define GIS data models, governance standards, and data quality processes.
- Design REST APIs, web services, and integration frameworks.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams on deployment strategies.
- Optimize GIS performance, scalability, and disaster recovery.
- Mentor GIS developers and technical teams while establishing architectural best practices.
- Support production deployments, upgrades, and system troubleshooting.
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, GIS, Geography, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of GIS experience with at least 3 years in an architecture role.
- Strong experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
- Experience implementing Esri Utility Network.
- Strong understanding of electric utility GIS architecture.
- Experience integrating GIS with enterprise applications.
- Strong knowledge of spatial databases including:
- SQL Server
- Oracle
- PostgreSQL
- Experience with Python, ArcPy, and GIS automation.
- Experience designing REST APIs and web services.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and container technologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
