Summary
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP HANA / SAP Basis Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large public-sector SAP environment at NCDOT in Raleigh, NC.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in SAP HANA database administration and SAP Basis operations, including production support, system replication, upgrades, patching, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting across a large SAP landscape.
This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the client's migration to SAP NS2 / S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support more than 100 production and non-production SAP HANA databases.
- Serve as the SAP HANA technical SME across a large SAP landscape.
- Perform SAP Basis administration across SAP products, including ABAP and Java stacks.
- Execute SAP HANA System Replication, system refreshes, and system copies.
- Apply SAP HANA revisions, SAP kernel updates, patches, and support package stacks.
- Monitor database performance, capacity, availability, backup, and recovery.
- Troubleshoot database and SAP system issues to maintain system stability and performance.
- Coordinate and implement technical changes, patches, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Perform daily system health checks and participate in the duty manager/on-call rotation.
- Support SAP Solution Manager problem messages.
- Contribute to the migration to SAP NS2 / S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP HANA database administration.
- Strong SAP Basis administration experience in enterprise SAP environments.
- Experience supporting SAP ABAP and Java application stacks.
- Hands-on experience with HANA System Replication, system refreshes, and system copies.
- Experience with SAP HANA revisions, SAP kernel updates, patching, and support package stacks.
- Strong knowledge of database performance monitoring, capacity management, backup, and recovery.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and maintaining SAP system availability.
- Experience supporting large SAP landscapes with production and non-production environments.
- Ability to work independently and handle technical operations in a mission-critical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience with SAP NS2 or S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition.
- Experience supporting SAP migration, modernization, or upgrade initiatives.
- Experience with SAP Solution Manager.
Candidate Requirements
- Must currently reside in North Carolina.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid arrangement in Raleigh, NC.
- Must be available for a webcam or in-person interview.
- Must be comfortable participating in an on-call/duty manager rotation.
