A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Workday Finance SME
Position type: Full Time Contract
Location: Remote
As a Workday Finance SME you will:
- Lead the end-to-end Workday Finance implementation and transition from legacy Oracle systems.
- Serve as the primary Workday Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a large-scale Finance organization.
- Drive solution design, configuration strategies, and the implementation of Workday best practices.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate resourcing approaches (build vs. train vs. contractor).
- Provide detailed estimates for project effort, timelines, and market rates for Workday resources.
- Oversee complex report development, system integrations, and global data accuracy.
- Train, mentor, and guide internal team members who have limited or no prior Workday background.
- Provide program governance, risk management, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure a successful go-live and manage post-implementation stabilization efforts.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Workday Finance modules (Core Fins, AP, AR, etc.).
- Proven track record of leading large-scale Workday implementations or complex migration projects.
- Deep functional expertise in Workday configuration, security frameworks, and business processes.
- Ability to advise senior leadership on cost, strategic resourcing, and long-term training strategies.
- Strong experience in data migration strategies and overseeing system integration workflows.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong leadership presence to manage a team of ~50 members.
- Proven ability to provide hands-on mentorship to technical and functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced experience with Workday Reporting (Matrix, Composite, and Advanced Reports).
- Technical proficiency in SQL for data analysis.
- Experience using Python for analytics, automation, or data auditing.
- Prior experience managing external contractors or third-party vendor teams.
- Experience in Finance Transformation initiatives, specifically migrating from Oracle to Workday.
Domain Expertise & Process Design:
- Design comprehensive Workday Financial solution blueprints and configuration guides.
- Implement Workday best practices for financial reporting, accounting, and audit compliance.
- Lead functional workshops and fit-gap analysis sessions for Finance workstreams.
- Develop Workday-specific training programs for internal staff transitioning from legacy systems.
- Configure advanced financial security roles and organizational structures.
- Design and oversee complex integration testing between Workday and third-party financial applications.
- Manage post-implementation stabilization and continuous process improvement strategies.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $80/hr. - $90/hr.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
