Job Description:
Pay Range: $55hr - $60hr
  • The SAN/Storage Engineer will be responsible for the design, deployment, administration, and optimization of enterprise storage and SAN infrastructure.
  • This role includes managing storage arrays, SAN fabrics, replication technologies, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in enterprise storage platforms, Fibre Channel networking, and performance troubleshooting within mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain SAN infrastructure including block storage, fabric switches, and storage arrays.
  • Manage zoning, LUN provisioning, masking, and multipathing configurations.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and storage optimization.
  • Administer enterprise storage platforms such as Dell EMC, NetApp, Hewlett Packard Enterprise 3PAR/Primera, IBM, and Hitachi storage systems.
  • Manage replication technologies including SRDF, SnapMirror, and RecoverPoint.
  • Implement and manage data protection strategies including snapshots and clones.
  • Configure and maintain Fibre Channel switches such as Brocade and Cisco MDS.
  • Manage firmware upgrades, patching, fabric zoning, and fault isolation.
  • Monitor SAN health using vendor tools and infrastructure monitoring platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve SAN and storage issues impacting servers, databases, and applications.
  • Perform root cause analysis for storage and I/O performance issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for end-to-end issue resolution.
  • Implement disaster recovery strategies leveraging replication technologies.
  • Participate in disaster recovery drills, failover testing, and documentation updates.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Strong experience designing and managing SAN and enterprise storage infrastructure.
  • Expertise in Fibre Channel fabric management and zoning.
  • Experience with storage replication and data protection technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for storage and I/O performance issues.
  • Experience with firmware upgrades, patching, and storage optimization.
Skills:
  • SAN architecture and storage provisioning.
  • Capacity planning and performance tuning.
  • Disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Root cause analysis and incident resolution.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Qualification And Education:
  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant experience in enterprise storage and SAN administration.
