Summary

 

1969 BAS Engineer

Position Purpose

Design, implement, and support Building Automation System (BAS) solutions by:

  • Reviewing and interpreting project mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
  • Developing comprehensive design packages using CAD tools and Microsoft Office applications
  • Producing deliverables that include:
    • Sequences of Operations
    • Wiring diagrams
    • System schematics
    • Bills of materials
    • Project schedules
  • Programming and configuring software databases to meet system and project requirements
  • Providing technical guidance and support to field installation teams
  • Verifying system functionality and performance through quality checks prior to and during installation

Entry-Level Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred
    • Degree requirements may be offset by 4+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Exposure to at least one programming language (e.g., C, C++, Java, Python, VBA, etc.) preferred
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated positive attitude and willingness to contribute

Advanced Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Science preferred
    • Degree requirements may be offset by 3+ years of BAS design and/or programming experience
  • Experience with BAS platforms such as:
    • Distech
    • Alerton
    • Delta
    • Tridium
  • Working knowledge of programming concepts and languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, Python, VBA, etc.)
  • Preferred experience with BAS programming methods, including:
    • Function Block
    • Ladder Logic
    • Text-based programming
  • Experience using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Preferred ability to interpret mechanical and electrical construction drawings and specifications
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting
