Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and web applications that support critical financial workflows
- Build testable, maintainable features and carry work from testing through production deployment
- Support and stabilize existing integrations within a fast-paced Finance technology environment
- Contribute to modernization efforts for legacy applications and related systems
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams to help ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups and sprint planning
- Support production applications and respond effectively in an Agile delivery environment
Skills
- Strong professional experience developing backend applications with Kotlin
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot
- Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs
- Experience with Kafka or similar event-driven messaging platforms
- Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Background developing scalable, distributed applications
- Experience writing unit and integration tests with a focus on testable code design
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD-based delivery workflows
- Ability to support production systems in a collaborative Agile environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Java
- Exposure to React for minor UI support or enhancements
- Experience in financial systems, accounting platforms, or enterprise transaction processing
- Background supporting high-volume retail or e-commerce environments
- Familiarity with modern storage and caching patterns, including Postgres and Cassandra
- Experience with Groovy or related backend technologies
