Job Description

You will be the Air Vehicle Software Engineer Sr for the F-22 Air Vehicle Software Development team which is responsible for advancing the flight control and vehicle management capabilities of the F-22.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Air Vehicle Software Engineer Sr you will be responsible for translating mission needs into robust software requirements and delivering safety-critical code that powers the F-22 Flight Control and Vehicle Management System.

Your responsibilities will include:

Develop and maintain detailed software requirements for flight control and vehicle management.
Write, test, and certify safety-critical embedded code in accordance with aerospace standards.
Integrate software with hardware components, performing hardware-in-the-loop and system testing.
Conduct verification and validation activities, analyzing test data to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement.

You are an experienced aerospace software professional who thrives in complex, safety-critical environments. You bring a strong background in embedded C/C++ development, a solid understanding of avionics integration, and a proven track record delivering high-reliability code. Basic Qualifications

Ability to obtain a Secret Government Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline
1-4 years professional experience working as a Software Engineer
Experience with Ada, C, C++, or a related language
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Experience with software/hardware integration and testing

Desired skills

Active Secret Government Security Clearance
Experience with Windows software development
Experience with Agile methodologies
Demonstrable work ethic, time management, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, and team-based environment
Experience with Jira, Git, GitLab, and CI/CD concepts
Experience with Visual Studio
Experience with on target hardware Requirements Verification Testing and/or Integration
Knowledge of embedded computer architectures and hardware
Experience with Simon and/or GENMON test development environments
Problem solving software and hardware issues, inquisitive, analytical, detail-oriented, problem-solver
Looking for an analytical and methodical individual who enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $93,200 - $164,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $107,300 - $185,840. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
