Test Engineer II/III. We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Test Engineer to support the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of testing activities for advanced training systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure software, hardware, and integrated training platforms meet strict performance, security, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, and the ability to analyze complex data to drive effective solutions. - Test Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Create test plans outlining the scope, objectives, resources, and schedule for testing activities.
- Test Design: Develop detailed test cases and test scripts based on project specifications.
- Define test data and test environments required for testing.
- Ensure that test cases are comprehensive and cover various scenarios.
- Test Execution: Execute test cases manually or automate test scripts using testing tools and frameworks.
- Record test results, including any defects or issues discovered during testing.
- Verify that the software or system functions correctly and meets requirements.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and prioritize defects or issues found during testing.
- Work with developers and other stakeholders to resolve defects and retest fixed issues.
- Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that new changes or updates do not introduce new defects. Maintain and update regression test suites as needed.
- Automation and Improvement: Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency.
- Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing to assess the system's scalability, responsiveness, and stability. Identify and report performance bottlenecks or issues.
- Security Testing: Conduct security testing to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats.
- Collaborate with security experts to address security issues.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports. Create test summary reports for stakeholders.
- Reporting: Provide regular status updates on testing progress to project managers and stakeholders.
Experience and Skills- Electrical and Mechanical Engineering: Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems found in aircraft and training platforms.
- Software Testing: Proficiency in software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Quality Assurance (QA): Knowledge of QA principles and best practices to ensure that the trainer meets government standards and requirements.
- Instrumentation and Sensors: Understand the sensors and instruments used in maintenance trainers to simulate real-world scenarios.
- Data Analysis: Ability to collect and analyze data generated during testing to identify issues and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Familiarity with testing tools, equipment, and simulators used in maintenance trainer testing
- Ability to create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Effective communication is crucial for conveying test results, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders, including government representatives and development teams
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems quickly, proposing solutions or workarounds when necessary.
Preferred Skills/Experience- Proficiency or working experience with military aviation and ground platforms.
- Understand the principles of platform maintenance and repair processes, as well as specific systems and components commonly used in aviation.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity in aviation systems
