Job Title: Platform Engineer III (Cloud Infrastructure & Automation)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Platform Engineer III to design, build, and optimize the foundational infrastructure that powers our applications and services. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our platform's reliability, scalability, and efficiency. You will bridge the gap between software development and infrastructure operations, working closely with engineering and security teams to streamline developer workflows and enhance the overall developer experience.
This is a senior-level position for an engineer who thrives on automation, system performance, and high-availability design. You will architect robust cloud environments, implement "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC) solutions, and champion observability, ensuring our systems are not only performant but also secure and compliant. If you are passionate about building modern, cloud-native platforms, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Architecture & Automation
Scalable Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain highly available and secure cloud-native infrastructure.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and manage robust IaC solutions (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi) to ensure repeatable and version-controlled infrastructure environments.
Pipeline Engineering: Architect, maintain, and optimize automated CI/CD deployment pipelines to accelerate delivery and ensure high-quality software releases.
Cloud Management & Observability
Cloud Optimization: Architect and fine-tune cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) for peak performance, cost-efficiency, and resilience.
Observability & Reliability: Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems; drive strategies for rapid issue detection and system reliability.
Performance Tuning: Proactively identify and resolve system bottlenecks; optimize platform resource allocation to maximize efficiency.
Security, Compliance & Operations
Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices, IAM policies, and infrastructure compliance frameworks across all deployment stages.
Incident Management: Participate in on-call rotations, diagnose complex production incidents, and lead rapid resolution efforts to minimize downtime.
Developer Experience: Partner with software engineering and SRE teams to identify workflow friction, streamline developer tooling, and automate routine operational tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience Baseline: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or large-scale infrastructure roles.
Technical Mastery:
oStrong hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
oDeep proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
oExpert-level knowledge of Containerization & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
oStrong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or Go).
Core Competencies: Strong analytical and debugging skills to troubleshoot complex, distributed systems; ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Attributes
Proven experience managing observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic).
Experience implementing CI/CD with enterprise tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Solid understanding of cloud security standards, network architecture, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
Ability to articulate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
