Job Title: Senior Observability Engineer – Dynatrace

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Observability Engineer with strong expertise in Dynatrace and modern observability practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining observability frameworks across distributed systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability of applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end observability frameworks for enterprise systems

• Configure and manage Dynatrace (Managed and/or SaaS) for application performance monitoring

• Instrument applications and infrastructure for metrics, logs, and traces

• Establish and enforce best practices for monitoring, alerting, and logging across distributed environments

• Integrate observability tools with enterprise systems and workflows

• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and SRE teams to improve system visibility and performance

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and decommissioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports for proactive issue detection

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Dynatrace (Managed and/or SaaS)

• Proven experience designing and implementing observability solutions

• Experience with observability tools such as:

  • Grafana

  • OpenTelemetry

  • Splunk

  • Datadog

  • OpenSearch

• Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices

• Proficiency in at least one programming language:

  • Python

  • JavaScript

  • Java

• Experience with cloud platforms:

  • AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure

• Familiarity with collaboration tools:

  • GitHub, Jira, Confluence

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Dynatrace Query Language (DQL)

• Knowledge of automated build and test frameworks

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
