On-site in Chevy Chase, MD

Our client is seeking an organized, detail-oriented IT Coordinator to support day-to-day IT operations, inventory management, asset logistics, vendor administration, and employee onboarding and offboarding activities. Reporting to IT leadership and partnering with the Service Desk Manager, this role supports approximately 600 employees and emphasizes coordination, accuracy, and customer service in a fast-paced environment. The position provides exposure to enterprise IT operations while collaborating with infrastructure, service desk, HR, finance, and vendor teams.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $30.00 to $35.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain inventory records for company-issued hardware, software licenses, and technology assets.
  • Track equipment lifecycle activities including laptop deployment, returns, refurbishments, replacements, and disposal.
  • Coordinate shipping, receiving, distribution, and recovery of technology equipment across multiple locations.
  • Perform periodic asset audits and reconciliations and manage stock levels for equipment and accessories.
  • Organize and maintain IT storage areas and equipment staging locations.
  • Partner with HR and IT to coordinate onboarding and separation processes, including equipment logistics and basic provisioning tasks.
  • Process vendor invoices and coordinate with Finance and Accounting for timely payment.
  • Maintain records of technology expenses, contracts, software renewals, and licensing agreements.
  • Monitor departmental spending and assist with budget tracking and monthly expense reporting.
  • Support purchasing activities for hardware, software, and IT services and manage vendor relationships.
  • Maintain documentation for assets, contracts, licensing, inventory, and purchasing activities.
  • Assist with audit preparation, compliance reporting, and metrics tracking.
  • Support departmental process improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Provide administrative support for IT leadership, coordinate departmental events, and track volunteer participation.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years in an administrative, coordinator, operations, or IT support-related role.
  • Experience with inventory, logistics, purchasing, or operational workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with follow-through and accountability.
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting IT, Service Desk, Operations, or Asset Management functions.
  • Preferred: Exposure to IT asset management, software licensing, procurement, or vendor management.
  • Preferred: Experience coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes.
