Lab Technician

Description
We are looking for an Engineering Lab Technician Contract in the Datacenter Systems Board Design Team to support testing and debug of datacenter products. You will collaborate with an innovative multidisciplinary world-class team of engineers to help build and develop our industry leading GPU accelerated computing products. This role will maintain and debug lab systems involving sophisticated system level hardware and software. System level performance testing is accomplished using industry leading Deep Learning/AI applications. In this role you will gain a deep understanding of datacenter products as we take on the challenge to solve complex technical issues so there will be plenty of opportunity for learning new skills related to datacenter products and infrastructure. The primary responsibility is to support our engineering teams during development to ensure outstanding quality GPU server products may be released to the market and delight our customers so that AI scientists and datacenter operators can achieve their professional aspirations using our technology. You will work independently to complete daily tasks according to priorities demonstrate a passion towards system level product quality and should be comfortable in an engineering lab environment.
What you'll be doing:

• Assemble build and install bench top development platforms and large server systems.
• Run system tests. Collect and report on testing results. Screen modules and boards as part of validation testing and debug.
• Connect oscilloscope probes to boards and collect signal waveform data.
• Prepare boards for detailed solder reworks to be completed by skilled technicians.
• Perform mechanical reworks involving power tools such as a Dremel.
• Support lab shipping receiving logistics and manage inventory of equipment and materials.
• Maintain and organize the lab equipment for efficiency and continuously look for ways to improve lab processes.
• Helping 3d print plastic parts for quick service modifications to setups/fixtures.

What We Need to See:

• Diploma/Certification Associate or Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent experience
• Min 2 years of hands-on experience in an electronic or testing lab in the areas of silicon bringup board-level design/validation or system design/validation.
• Fundamental knowledge of computing architectures and relevant hands-on hardware/software debug experience.
• Experience with lab test equipment setups for signal measurement using oscilloscopes and understanding of schematics.
• Experience with Linux command line operation.
• Solid system-level debugging experience familiarity with board bring-up and customer support.
• Good attention to detail as well as clear written and verbal communications
• Ways to stand out from the crowd:
• Experience with BMC server management processors.
• Experience with thermal validation.
• Proven basic networking knowledge and server maintenance.
• Competence to perform simple solder reworks.
• Experience with lab test equipment setups for signal measurement using oscilloscopes and understanding to follow a schematic.
• Experience with x86/ARM architectures and accelerated GPU computing.
• Show interest in tinkering/building electronics.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Hillsboro, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $61.15/hr.
