Document Control Specialist in Houston, TX
  • $18.50/hr. - $19.50/hr.
  • Contract role with hybrid work arrangement (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in office, Wednesday and Friday from home)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to support technical drawing management for assets across Operations & Maintenance, Capital Projects, and Management of Change initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and integrity of engineering documentation within an Electronic Document Management System.

In this position, you'll be at the center of coordination-working with internal teams, external consultants, and drafting groups to manage technical drawings and maintain high data quality standards. If you enjoy working in a structured yet collaborative environment and take pride in organization and accuracy, this is a great opportunity to grow your career.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate, track, distribute, and archive technical drawings and documentation using an EDM system (Meridian)
  • Manage drawing requests and issue packages for O&M, capital, and core project work
  • Ensure data integrity and metadata quality within the document management system
  • Identify and resolve data quality or process-related issues
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing reports and summaries
  • Support consultants and internal teams with drawing standards, procedures, and requirements
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of document control processes and standards
  • Collaborate with drafting teams and other analysts to maintain consistency and accuracy
  • Assist with construction and as-built drawing coordination for EPC projects

What You Bring:
  • Related Technology Diploma or equivalent combination of certification and 0-3 years of experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (preferred)
  • Experience with Meridian or similar document management systems (a plus)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to solve technical and analytical problems with minimal supervision
  • A self-driven, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

If you're looking for an opportunity to build hands-on experience in document control within a dynamic project environment, this role offers strong exposure and career growth potential.
