Summary
Job Description
• Experience in IBM MQ product installation, upgrades, maintenance, configurations and troubleshooting.
• Expertise in administrating, alert setup and monitoring the message process using tools like MQ explorer, Omegamon for MQ and TEPS.
• Design the MQ architecture pattern for the message processing flow as per the new application requirement
• Defining the MQ objects queues, channel, process definition, Topic, etc .
• Skilled at executing IBM MQ utilities to handle the MQ queue messages (backup, deleting a particular records etc..)
• Maintain and adopt the new pagesets & bufferpool according to the application growth in MQ
• Knowledge on the MQ queue sharing and MQ clustering to handle the queue managers and its components.
• Strong knowledge on MQ queue manager creation/migration and daily health check and dead letter queue process automation
• Good understanding of messaging interfaces and connections to the IBM other products (such as CICS, DB2, IMS..) and third party application servers.
• Perform MQ online monitoring, investigate MQ CPU usage using SMF statistics analyze
• CICS TS v5.x, v6.x, CICSPlex - Install, Upgrade, Patch, Configure and RSU Maintenance (Including CPSM support)
• Understanding of a CICS MRO environment
• Set traces (Aux and GTF) – ability to set traces to aid vendors in problem management and determination.
• CICS shutdown statistics – be able to produce and interpret shutdown stats to aid in problem determination and growth projections.
• Understanding of the CICS dynamic storage areas and how to manipulate for short on storage situations or to accommodate future growth of applications.
• Create both transaction and system dumps (and port to vendors for analysis)
• RDO (resource definition online) – must be able to create any resource needed on CICS (e.g transactions, programs, files, transient data queue, LSR groups, etc)
• Web Services – creating and supporting of web services within CICS
• Install and maintain Tivoli/Omegamon products, Broadcom Intertest/Symdump used to debug CICS programs, to format transaction dumps, FileAid, Splunk
• SDS – CAFC (CICS application file control) – install product and use for control of files, application lists and group lists.
• Create new or modify existing CICS regions in support of new applications or CICS architecture re-engineering initiatives.
• Support Mainframe Message Transfer & Connectivity environments z/OS CONNECT
• Performance and Tuning in a large Z/OS Environment
• Nice to have knowledge with MQSeries and MQClients on distributed platforms.
• Nice to have knowledge Mainframe zOS, JCL, VSAM, ISPF and COBOL.
• IBM and ISV Vendor Coordination for Ticketing Incidents/Problems, SW downloads, Escalations
• Provide 24x7 after hours on-call support as required for products supported by the team
