Fully remote, but their most recent role needs to either be a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst! With Starbucks Connect/License team. License stores are in grocery stores such as Safeway, Albertsons, Target, Kroger's, etc. Use Connect platform to bring together all stores on technology platform. New feature that is tracking fraud prevention. All data around fraud and loss prevention called Appriss. Tool inside Appriss is called Secure. Building out reports to take all data that Appriss pulls to use Power BI and make reports. This BSA will be handling 5-7 customers and gathering requirements for end clients and working with Appriss team. Need to have reporting background and retail experience!! Light system administration work on report building application. Fully remote role which is great and
Duration: 6 months+ - SOW will go to end of fiscal year (9/30) and more than likely extend further from there (potential for this to be first role of a much larger initiative).

New feature for a fraud application they are offering their licensed stores - need a point of contact for the licensees as they roll out the out of the box application to the licensees and working with them to gather requirements needed to make enhancements and adjustments to the software.
Role Overview
The Fraud Business Systems Analyst will support the launch and scale of a
net-new fraud capability being introduced into the Appriss Connect platform. This role acts as the
primary point of contact for licensees, helping them onboard to the fraud application, understand the out-of-the-box experience, and translate licensed-environment data into a usable, secure analytics solution.
This is the
first fraud feature within Connect, creating a significant opportunity to influence how the solution scales across licensees. The role is both
technical and relationship-focused, sitting at the intersection of platform analytics, deployment, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Licensee Enablement & Onboarding- Serve as the primary point of contact for licensees as they are onboarded to the fraud application.
- Walk licensees through the out-of-the-box application experience, ensuring exposure to core functionality and analytics.
- Support early-stage onboarding with frequent interaction (potentially daily at the start).
Requirements Gathering & Configuration- Work directly with licensees to gather requirements and determine what adjustments are needed beyond the standard experience.
- Translate what has worked in licensed environments, including ensuring data is properly translated and aligned with the application.
- Understand the business context behind fraud use cases, not just the technical configuration.
Data, Testing & Validation- Support data migration, testing, and validation efforts to ensure accuracy and usability.
- Partner with licensees who may have prior experience with RBI or report-building applications.
- Ensure the application remains highly learnable and usable for end customers.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work closely with:
- Platform Analytics (under LeeRoy, alongside five partner teams)
- RFA Database Team and broader technology teams
- Appriss representatives (weekly cadence) and technical support teams
- Partner with deployment teams to administer and support the application post-deployment.
Tools & Technical Environment
- Power BI is a key tool for analytics and reporting.
- The role focuses on application administration and analytics, not deep fraud-specific tooling.
Ideal Background & Skill Set
Technical & Analytical- Experience with data migration, testing, and validation.
- Comfort working in report-driven or analytics-focused applications.
- Ability to administer and support a production application.
Business & Relationship Skills- Strong customer-facing communication skills; acts as a trusted partner for licensees.
- Able to bridge technical concepts and business needs.
- Highly collaborative across technical, analytics, and deployment teams.
What's Not Required- Retail fraud management expertise is not required.
- Software development work may be asked about, but is likely beyond scope.
High-Level Responsibilities and Focus Areas:- Serve as the system admin for the licensed Appriss Retail "Secure" loss-monitoring application
- Build and maintain the out-of-the-box Secure deployment for licensees
- Provide Loss Prevention consultation support for licensee LP/AP teams
- Build POS Risk Dashboards within Secure for licensee use to identify elevated POS risk activity
- Manage an intake process for customized reporting and fraud-rule requests to support specialized monitoring
- Monitor system health and partner with ST and Appriss Retail to address bugs, updates, and enhancements
- Collaborate with Starbucks Licensed business leadership to provide updates, usage visibility, and insights into successes and opportunities
