Job Title: UX Researcher Specialist

Purpose and Objective:

Ariba, Inc. seeks a UX Researcher Specialist at our Palo Alto, CA location to conduct comprehensive user research uncovering user needs, issues, and preferences for data-driven product development.

Expectations and Tasks:

Provide product usability, evaluation, and support to development teams, including analysis and investigations of applications/systems, graphics, web, multimedia, voice response, and user interaction. Plan and implement user research strategies including participant recruitment, screening, and study execution. Conduct and analyze qualitative and quantitative user research using methodologies such as interviews, surveys, and contextual inquiries to gather insights on and align user needs, preferences, and pain points. Synthesize research findings into actionable insights through personas, journey maps, presentations, and reports to inform product decisions. Perform competitive analyses and heuristic evaluations to identity opportunities for improvement and differentiation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, advocating for the user perspective to inform product decisions and priorities.

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Design, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Design, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field of study.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Prior experience, internship, or academic coursework must include each of the following:

  • Research design;

  • Research methodologies including generative and evaluative research;

  • Participant screening;

  • Data analysis;

  • Data logging;

  • Data synthesis;

  • Design thinking;

  • UI/UX writing; and

  • Workshop facilitation.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $127,712 - $178,740. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $127,712 - $208,000. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
