The Principal, Systems & Infrastructure Engineer will lead the design, development, and delivery of internal security tooling and automation solutions that accelerate the OT/IoT security program. This role is primarily hands-on software engineering and CI/CD ownership - building the platforms, pipelines, and integrations that enable the team to operate at scale.

The engineer will architect and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for internal security tools and applications. They will design and build scalable backend services, automation frameworks, and data integrations that connect security platforms (asset visibility, vulnerability management, compliance tracking) with enterprise systems.
About the team:

The team specializes in securing complex enterprise environments by designing and implementing advanced IoT and OT security solutions. It manages a wide range of devices including sensors, cameras, robots, and industrial automation platforms while ensuring compliance with security standards. Focused on collaboration, the team develops scalable, secure infrastructure aligned with business objectives. Members apply expertise in security controls, network management, and software development to protect critical systems and maintain operational resilience across Walmart's technology landscape. The group provides expert guidance to stakeholders, driving innovation and strong defense strategies to safeguard essential operations.
What you'll do:
  • Design, build, and maintain internal security tooling, dashboards, and automation solutions that support the OT/IoT security program
  • Own end-to-end CI/CD pipeline architecture and operations for the team's applications - including pipeline design, build automation, environment promotion, and release management
  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs that integrate security platforms (asset management, vulnerability tracking, compliance reporting) with enterprise data sources
  • Define and enforce software development standards for the team: branching strategy, code review process, testing requirements, and deployment gates
  • Collaborate with security analysts and engineers to translate operational needs into maintainable, production-quality software
  • Provide technical mentorship to team members; drive adoption of engineering best practices

What you'll bring:

  • Proven expertise in designing scalable IT infrastructure and architectural solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting languages.
  • Experience with software coding standards and development tools across multiple platforms.
  • Ability to analyze system performance, optimize configurations, and ensure high availability.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop detailed architecture blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on security policy implementation and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines at scale (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent)
  • Strong proficiency with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
