Job DetailsWe are looking for a Territory Sales Manager to take ownership of our distribution business across Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri. You'll inherit an established group of distribution partners-but the opportunity is to do much more with them.
We want someone who likes being in the market. You'll stay close to distributor sales teams, uncover opportunities they're working on, make joint customer calls, help solve hydraulic applications, provide training, and make sure our products and capabilities are consistently in front of the people who can grow the business.
This is an opportunity to walk into a territory where increased activity can make an immediate impact. You'll have the backing of a global manufacturer, a broad technical product portfolio, significant autonomy, and an incentive plan that rewards you for turning that opportunity into growth.
What You'll Own
- Develop and grow a focused group of distribution partners across Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri
- Build consistent engagement with distributor sales teams and become a go-to technical and commercial resource
- Get into the field with distributor reps for joint sales calls, customer visits, and new business development
- Identify opportunities where our hydraulic products and engineered solutions can solve real customer challenges
- Help distributors with product selection, hydraulic applications, technical questions, quotations, and training
- Develop new end-user opportunities and help move them from initial application through close
- Increase sales, profitability, and market penetration throughout the territory
- Build value propositions that give distributors a compelling reason to lead with our solutions
- Coordinate Product Managers and internal technical resources when an opportunity requires additional expertise
- Stay ahead of competitive activity, market trends, and emerging opportunities throughout the region
- Own CRM activity, target-account development, opportunity tracking, and territory forecasting
- Provide actionable feedback from the field that helps shape sales, product, and distribution strategy
What You Bring
- Experience selling engineered, technical, hydraulic, fluid power, or related industrial products
- Working hydraulics knowledge with the ability to understand circuits, applications, and recommend appropriate solutions
- A track record of developing customer relationships and growing business within an assigned territory
- The drive to actively work a market rather than simply maintain an existing book of business
- Ability to work effectively through distributors while also engaging directly with end users and their applications
- Strong technical curiosity-you don't need to engineer the product, but you should enjoy understanding how and why a solution works
- Confidence making customer calls, uncovering needs, developing opportunities, and moving business toward a close
- Ability to build credibility with distributor salespeople, technical customers, and internal product teams
- Strong communication, presentation, organization, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivation and the discipline to independently manage a remote, multi-state territory
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% throughout the region
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
