Job Description

You will be the Systems Engineer (Radar/EW) - Level 3 for the Radar/EW Systems Engineering team which is responsible for delivering advanced RF engineering solutions across the full aircraft lifecycle.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Systems Engineer (Radar/EW) - Level 3 you will be responsible for applying RF engineering expertise to design, develop, integrate, produce, and sustain cutting-edge radar and electronic-warfare systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing RF analysis, modeling, and testing to support system design and performance verification.
  • Integrating radar/EW subsystems into aircraft platforms using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to transition designs from development through production and sustainment.
  • Applying digital engineering tools to create and maintain accurate system models and documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with security and special-access requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

You are a collaborative RF specialist with a strong background in radar and electronic-warfare systems. You thrive in fast-paced, high-impact environments, excel at translating complex technical requirements into actionable designs, and champion rigorous data integrity and safety. Your ability to mentor peers and influence stakeholders makes this role a pivotal platform for advancing next-generation aeronautics capabilities.

The selected candidate must possess an active Top Secret clearance with investigation within 5 years to start.

This position is in Palmdale, CA Discover Palmdale.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering degree.
Experience in systems engineering lifecycle, development, requirements decomposition, and application of processes and tools
Experience with Radar and Electronic Warfare principles, and sensor operations
Knowledge of Low Observables (LO)
Experience working in cross functional or small technical teams

Desired skills

Experience with sensor hardware design, physical interfaces, and sensor integration onto airborne platforms applications
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with Supplier management
Familiarity with agile methodology and processes
Familiarity with use of Confluence and JIRA
CAMEO, CATIA V5 or V6 experience
Understanding of LM system engineering processes
Knowledge of Military and/or Government programs
Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $102,800 - $178,135. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
