Job Title: Staff Engineer with Slack Platform

Job Description
PayPal is looking for an experienced Staff Engineer to manage and develop its enterprise Slack platform supporting tens of thousands of employees. The role focuses on Slack platform ownership, security, compliance, automation, and AI agent governance.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the enterprise Slack platform, policies, identity integration, and access controls.
Develop scripts and integrations using Slack APIs with Python or PowerShell.
Manage approvals, permissions, monitoring, and revocation of Slack apps, bots, integrations, and AI agents.
Secure AI agent access to Slack data and MCP servers, enforcing least-privilege access.
Manage data retention, legal holds, eDiscovery, and compliance requirements.
Build and maintain bots, connectors, automation pipelines, and cloud services using Infrastructure as Code.
Troubleshoot production issues and lead root-cause analysis.
Define platform architecture, technical roadmaps, and Slack-to-Microsoft Teams integrations.
Work with Security, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering teams to ensure platform security and regulatory compliance.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience managing and engineering Slack platforms at enterprise scale.
Experience with Slack APIs, Python or PowerShell, and application integrations.
Knowledge of identity management, SSO, OAuth, permissions, and security controls.
Experience with AI agents, MCP, and AI security governance.
Experience with cloud platforms, automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
Knowledge of data retention, legal hold, and eDiscovery.
Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Familiarity with Terraform and Microsoft Teams integrations.
