Opportunities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Thinking creatively to address the complex challenges faced by the largest utilities in North America.
  • Performing rigid bus analysis and the design of electrical substation steel structures, equipment foundations, and secondary oil containment.
  • Being mentored by more experienced engineers.
  • Providing support for our clients during construction.
  • Performing field inspections and compliance documentation.
  • Leading a team of single-discipline professionals to ensure project success.
  • Presenting designs and proposals to clients, permitting authorities, public interest groups, etc.
  • Corresponding and/or meeting with clients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Participating in project proposal efforts.
  • Advancing into leadership roles.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a directly related field from an ABET-accredited program and three (3) years of structural engineering experience in the areas listed below.

Alternatively, a Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a directly related field from an ABET-accredited program and two (2) years of structural engineering experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, plus three (3) years of described experience in the areas listed below, is acceptable.
  • Performing rigid bus analysis and the design of electrical substation steel structures, equipment foundations, and secondary oil containment.
  • Developing performance and material specifications
  • Strong knowledge of standard structural engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design codes (e.g., IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7). Experience with ASCE 113 strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA 3D, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, Tekla).
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Performing field inspections and compliance documentation.
  • Being part of or leading a team of single-discipline professionals to ensure project success.

Compensation

$105,000.00-155,000.00 Yearly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
