Title: Desktop Support Specialist
Location: Raleigh, NC
Duration: 12 Months
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Interview: Phone & In-Person
Travel: Required; eligible travel expenses
 
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to provide advanced technical support for Service Desk and customer requests across Raleigh and statewide locations. The role will troubleshoot complex hardware, software, networking, and application issues while supporting end users and mentoring other technicians.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 2/3 desktop and technical field support.
  • Install, image, configure, and replace computers and software.
  • Install and configure printers, peripherals, and network devices.
  • Perform user data and profile migrations.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and application issues.
  • Work with infrastructure, data center, and application teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Manage user accounts and related services such as Active Directory, email, and Citrix.
  • Use ServiceNow for incident/call tracking and status updates.
  • Lead technical projects and coordinate team activities when required.
  • Create and maintain technical processes, procedures, and operational documentation.
  • Follow organizational IT security policies and protect systems/data from unauthorized access.
  • Mentor other technicians and promote positive customer relationships.
 
Required Skills
  • 7+ years of experience with computer hardware, software, peripherals, networking protocols, and communications.
  • 7+ years installing and imaging computers and deploying software.
  • 7+ years installing/configuring local and network printers and peripherals.
  • 7+ years performing data and user profile migrations.
  • 7+ years documenting technical field support processes and procedures.
  • 7+ years working with ServiceNow call tracking.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
